Finding the right practitioner is an important first step towards introducing wellbeing into the workplace or supporting you on your personal self care journey. I hope this page gives you a sense of who I am, the way I work, and how I can support you.
Hello, I’m Laura. I’m a Forest Bathing Nature Therapy Guide and Breathwork Facilitator working in and around Newcastle and Northumberland in the North East of England.
For twenty years, my professional life has been dedicated to environment and conservation project development, management and delivery, specialising in connecting people to nature. Throughout this time, I’ve been constantly drawn to the profound benefits that I’ve seen first hand— to mind, body, and spirit. This path was shaped by a BA Hons degree in Advice, Guidance, and Counselling and a Diploma in Countryside Management.
However my deepest training came from a personal place. After navigating a difficult period of bereavement and trauma, I found that breathwork was the practice that supported me through it. This wasn’t just a professional interest; it became a personal transformation.
My daily practice of grounding and restorative Breathwork allowed me to acknowledge and let go of so much. I found that the simple act of focusing on my breath could create a powerful shift, clearing energy and allowing a smoother, more peaceful flow. This journey led me to train as a Forest Bathing and Mindfulness Practitioner and, ultimately, a certified Breathwork Facilitator, so I could share this incredible gift with others.
My work is trauma-informed and backed by the highest standards of training, ensuring a safe, supportive space for your self-healing journey.
My connection to this work is deeply tied to the land I call home. The day the Sycamore Gap tree was tragically felled, not far from my house, I was scheduled to give a public presentation about trees in my village. My heart was aching with a grief that was both personal and shared.
Just before I spoke, I took a moment to breathe into my heart. It helped me feel centred and able to speak. I asked everyone in the room to take a collective breath and remember their cherished times with the tree. In that moment, the breath connected us all in our united loss. It’s this power—the power of the breath to ground us and connect us, even in moments of pain—that I bring to every session I lead.
It is vital to me that my practice is informed by the highest standards of training and ethics. When you work with me, you can be assured that you are in a safe, professional, and trauma-informed space.
I am now working toward my Breathwork Teacher Training qualification with Breathing Space and continue to learn and grow in my practice every day.
Whether you are here to support your team, to find personal restoration, or simply out of curiosity, I am honoured to hold this space for you.
